ycling through the trees in the Pijnven in Hechtel-Eksel is an iconic bicycle bridge that lets you cycle between the treetops in Bosland. From now on you no longer have to go to Hechtel-Eksel to start this route, but you start from Mol.

Unsurprisingly, the area inspired an entire school of painters, of whom Jakob Smits and Dirk Baksteen are the most well-known. Particularly interesting is the Way of the Cross of the 'Vijftien Kapellekens' (fifteen chapels).

The protected area of the Ronde Put, extending over 500 acres, is located on the border between Postel and Retie.

The Hoevenpad footpath offers a rural environment, dotted with farms, agricultural land, stands of alder, as well as forest trails and forgotten droves: these are what characterise the Hoevenpad. The starting point is Den Driehoek tavern on the Stokt.

Mol has been twinned with Santo Tomás in Nicaragua since 1985. The town councils, youth movements and members of the public in both towns work together on the twinning project.

G.R. (long-distance footpaths) These are long-distance paths for keen hikers who are not put off by the miles. Using these long-distance paths you can get to know every nook and cranny of our region.

The walking route 'Molse Meren' has acquired a great new highlight. A new footpath has been opened to the general public over one of the hills of nature reserve 't Oud Stort. 'At the top of the hill, you feel as if you're in Scotland', says Jef Sas, conservationist and nature guide of the organisation Natuurpunt.

On the 'Merentocht' bustour, passengers will see the largest inland lakes in Flanders: woods, nature, green and blue. Also included is a visit to the interactive museum Quartz Experience.

After mounting 217 steps you find yourself at a height of 37 metres where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the region.

Get on board all year round for a wonderful trip in the most beautiful part of the Kempen. Comfortable marathon carriages drawn by Welsh Arabian horses, small, lively, intelligent and good-natured animals with plenty of stamina.

The wooded area of the 15 Kapellekens once inspired the entire paining school of Jakob Smits and Dirk Baksteen. The 15 Kappelekens is an outdoor Way of the Cross.

Wandelnetwerk Kempense Meren provides 270 km of lovely walking in the parishes of Dessel, Mol and Retie. The name of the walking network refers to the watery landscape which typifies Mol and Dessel.

This walk lives up to its name. After a glance a the nuclear power station of the SCK, the route takes you to the majestic Prinsenpark.

De Witte Mol is a welfare centre for people with serious or multiple disabilities. The main purpose of the paths is for people with a serious disability and wheelchair users to enjoy a footpath, with or without a carer, in peaceful and safe surroundings. De Witte Mol offers two wheelchair routes: Galbergenpad and De Vijftien Kapellekens.

An adventure on the Pagadderpad is more than just a walk! It is a fun way for children to exercise and have fun in natural surroundings. Mother, father, brother, sister, dog,... everyone on an adventure together. The generous choice of activities and games helps to create a unique circuit through the forest. Plus, it is always open and free of charge!

In spring and summer, when the weather is good, visitors can walk over the cobbles in and around the abbey of Postel. For many people it is a long-standing tradition: going to Postel, enjoying a nature walk, visiting the abbey and completing the day with an ice cream, bag of chips or a hot dog.

During the trip, the qualified regional guide will explain the history of the canals, the discovery of white sand and its applications, the Sibelco sand miner, the lakes and the accompanying re-purposing activities. Impressive! That's the only word for this route. A unique canal junction, Bailey bridges from WW II and lakes formed as a result of historic sand and lignite mining, this walk has it all. Enjoy your picnic at the ancient border marker stone called 'Steen der Zeven Heerlijkheden' or 'Stone of the Seven Domains'.

On the footpaths of 'De Maat', you will pass all the beauty spots on the border between Mol and Lommel. For instance, you can walk from Ecocentrum De Goren to De Maat nature reserve and Youth Camp de Maat and back again.

'Den Uyt' offers an indoor as well as an outdoor swimming pool. The indoor swimming pool has a length of 25 metres. Enjoy the 40 metre water chute, diving board, jacuzzi, solarium and café.

Postel Abbey is at the centre of five beautiful walks. The Abbey has been a hub of trading routes since the Middle Ages.

This route passes the Ezaart Windmill, which is the last remaining of the seven windmills that our town once boasted. The windmill will be your landmark during this walk.
